Gabriel's Story

Introduction
Gabriel is a pediatric stroke survivor who has continued to build a full and meaningful life while navigating the lasting effects of stroke. From earning his film degree to receiving a Sports Emmy, his story is one of perseverance, support, and taking recovery one day at a time.

Tell us your story from the beginning to now, sharing anything you feel comfortable with.

"I am a pediatric stroke survivor, and I still struggle with fine motor control, but I live a relatively normal life and have accomplished so much. From getting my Film degree to getting a sports Emmy. I want to be someone who inspires another stroke survivor."

If you could give some advice to a stroke survivor in recovery now, what would it be?

"I think the one thing I wish I knew better in the early recovery stage is that no one around you will judge you for asking for help."

Tell us about one thing that helped you stay mentally strong through your recovery.

"My Family and friends and the dream, to fully rehabilitate as long as I stick to doing what I can its day by day always."

Please list any tools or resources that have helped you in your journey.

"I had a lot of help from various Occupational and Physical Therapists, and one of the biggest helps was camp Helping Hands."
